I am Luis Urquiza Aguiar. I received the BSc in Electronics and Networking from Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN), Quito, Ecuador in 2008 and the MSc and PhD degrees in Telematics Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain in 2012 and 2016, respectively. Both degrees were obtained thanks to the scholarships of the SENESCYT from the Ecuadorian Government. In addition, I received the MSc degree in Statistics and Operations Research from Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística at UPC in 2018.

Currently, I am an associate professor in the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Networks at Escuela Politécnica Nacional and head of the Wireless Network Research Group. My research interests span wireless networks, mathematical modeling, and optimization of large-scale telecommunication problems. I am a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society.
